A Message from Cabbie Davis
A Message from “Cabbie” Davis, One of Our Newest Chamber MembersKnoxville has offered me the freedom and the initiative to come from relative obscurity to the point that I now have clients that I love, a church that allows me to express my total spirituality, and many supportive friends. Although I am an adoptive son of Knoxville my love for the town and the Red Rock area has developed to the point that I truly find it a joy to start early in the morning and run until, well whenever my last run happens to contact the “Cabbie” for a safe and sober ride to his or her home. This rise to creating and owning a business did not happen in a vacuum. The most significant business that assisted me on the way belongs to Michael Robuck on the corner of 5th and Main. “Scrappy” and Duane, Shannon, Greg and Jennifer have all contributed to my success. Paul and Lori Ross of “Family Treasures” gave me my first job here, which set me upright. “Big” Al Nichols, my driver and his fine family are also great contributors. Dan Steffen and his wife, Faye, of Dan’s Village Pump have also been significant people in my great life here in Knoxville. Mike Brooks Trucking is a Godsend to me. There are may others whom if you are reading this I wish to express my heartfelt thanks. Davis Cab originated in Knoxville. My plan is to expand throughout this great nation in every small town that will accept me. Small business is the lifeblood of this the United States of America, the greatest nation that ever existed anywhere and anytime. There is no other country that would have allowed me to pick myself up from the proverbial ashes and in essence to gain recognition with such austere folk as the Mayor, the City Council persons and the Chief of Police as well as the outstanding businessmen and women of this fine community. Thank you Knoxville, Iowa.
